What is Arbaeen?

Arbaeen marks the 40th day after Ashura — the day Imam Hussain (AS), grandson of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), was martyred at Karbala in 61 AH.

The word Arbaeen means "forty" in Arabic. On this day, millions of Muslims worldwide commemorate the sacrifice of Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions.
